Tell a wise one or else be silent,
for the masked man will be mawkish right away.
I praise what is truly alive, what longs to be burned to death.
In the still waters of love-nights where you were begotten,
where you have begotten, a strange feeling comes over you.
You see the silent candle burning.
Distance does not make you falter now.
Flying, arriving in Magick, you are the moth, and you are gone...
Who ever has not experienced this, to die, and so to grow, is but a troubled guest on a lonely planet.

“Holy Longing” poem by Goethe, translated by Robert Bly

Ray’s temples at night
The temples were made to create a safe space for intimacy and inspire a deeper sense of connection and communion with others. Individuals in our society are increasingly isolated, even in the midst of a crowd, even with a long time lover sleeping next to them. The effect is ... a person with less connection to others has less compassion for them. Conversely, a person who knows they “belong” will make great personal sacrifice for the common good. The temple architecture, atmosphere and sculpture are designed to promote a “unity consciousness.” Ray hopes to inspire the commitment toward a life path that includes others and includes ourselves but continues towards fully embracing the Divine within us that we all share.
